A BSAC Dive Leader is a person who is an active, experienced and responsible diver, competent in dive leadership and rescue skills. Dive Leaders may lead others on open water dives and within certain limitations, marshal and supervise dives and if necessary manage rescue situations. As a Dive Leader your maximum depth is initially restricted to 35 metres but can be extended progressively up to the BSAC maximum of 50 metres.

The comprehensive course is a mix of classroom-based and practical lessons that concentrates on the responsibilities and safety aspects of leading an open water dive. Practical lessons in rescue management and rescue skills will give you the confidence and ability to deal with those unforeseen (and extremely rare) emergencies. 

Leading a dive will develop your enjoyment and experience as a diver, so If you wish to attend the Dive Leader course, we can arrange the lectures or open water training upon request; please contact us at webdiver@aerodivers.com

Practical Training will be arranged whenever possible.

After qualifying, and if you wish, depth can be built progressively to a maximum of 50 metres. Dive Leaders are eligible to progress to Open Water Instructor.
