Christine Grosart has over a decade of experience of caves around the world.
She holds the UK female cave diving record in Wookey Hole Caves and is driven by cave exploration in the south of France, where she has the end of the line in 3 caves.
She is a Paramedic by trade and in her spare time is a caving instructor, introducing people to caves for the first time. Her business, WetWellies Caving, specializes in training cave divers in the techniques required to operate safely in the dry cave before they even get to the water.
Christine enjoys cave photography and also runs a conservation project at Porth yr Ogof Cave in South Wales.
The talk will begin at 20:00 and end at 21:00 with the opportunity for questions afterwards.
Agenda:
- Christine will be talking about Project Baseline – a wreck conservation initiative, which reaches out to all divers interested in both caves and wrecks. She will introduce the audience to Project Baseline Portland Harbour Wrecks and her own project in the caves of South Wales.
- Project Baseline was set up in 2009 and Christine and her partner, Dr Richard Walker have been involved from the outset. Christine will explain how Project baseline works, its’ wreck conservation aims to and how divers can get involved and contribute to the project.
