In an effort to address all levels of diver in addition to the recreational RHIB & hardboat trips that get organised I try to organise a semi-regular ‘deeper/tech dive‘ usually around once a month.

A few operators have now published diving events for some of 2025 & so here is the second of the Deeper Dives, not quite as deep as the Gripfast

It’s on Saturday May 31st out of Portland with Scimitar Diving to the Pomeranian

The Pomeranian was torpedoed by the German submarine UB-77 in April 1918 killing 55 of her crew. She was a Canadian ship on route to Newfoundland carrying various items of cargo including divers helmets and Royal Doulton pottery. She is collapsing in places and divers are advised not to penetrate the wreck. An unforgettable dive and definitely one for the log book.

This is a 2-dive day but we wont be returning to port between dives so you’ll need at least 2 cylinders.

Ropes off is 12:30 & a cost of £80
