Purton shipwrecks
5th June 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
No, not a dive trip, this time you get to stay dry & see shipwrecks – though of course a glass or two to dampen the palate 🙂
As we now have light evenings, it seems to make sense to take advantage of them for the next Wednesday night club social. Would anyone be interested in a walk down to see the Purton shipwrecks ?
If you haven’t been there before, its up near Sharpness and is the site of a large number of vessels that were run aground to strengthen and support the river bank in that area. If we have time and people feel like it we could carry on down to the site of the original severn bridge. ( The railway not the road bridge)
Obviously it will be dependent on the weather but if it is good then it’s a nice spot for a walk and its all on the level. I suggest we meet at 7:00pm in the car park at Purton. Here are the directions:
Post code : Severn Way, Berkeley GL13 9HP
More precise is this : https://w3w.co/cassettes.neck.freed
Just so we know how many to expect, can you just confirm you are coming along. If the weather is against us I will send out another email on Tuesday evening so please keep an eye out for it.
Best regards
Pete
